Larry Vaught: “Meeks seems content to stay in NBA Draft”

122008 05 Larry Vaught: “Meeks seems content to stay in NBA Draft”

At this point, I’m preparing myself any day for a Twitter message from someone that reads “Jodie Meeks signs with agent, will forgo senior year at UK.”

Basically all signs of late have pointed toward Jodie Meeks remaining in the NBA Draft and Larry Vaught has chimed in, saying:

“Unlike UK teammate Patrick Patterson, who decided early that his heart was at Kentucky, Meeks’ heart and head are telling him the NBA is where he wants to play if he can.”

It appears that Jodie Meeks will certainly be able to play in the NBA. The feedback he said he was getting (mid first round to early second) is pretty accurate at this point.

Jodie said earlier in an interview he would consult with former coach Tubby Smith and current coach John Calipari in making his decision and, frankly, I’m shocked he’s not on the phone with Billy Gillispie every day talking about the Draft (note the sarcasm). Jodie also said he planned to make a decision before the June 15 deadline, which to me means that we could know something as soon as this weekend.
