Kentucky Football Update

Last weekend the Cats wrapped up their spring football season with the annual blue and white game. Overall the team had a good spring and finished on a positive note. One thing is clear, the staff isn’t ready to name a starting quarterback. For what it’s worth I still believe Mike Hartline will be under center against Louisville.
As far as the offense goes, UK should be better at each position except for the offensive line. The Cats have work to do on the offensive line this summer, but Mike Summers should have them ready for Louisville. After the blue and white game, Joker stated the offensive line must protect the quarterback better. The good news is the team has three games to get it figured out before the SEC schedule starts.
The Cats defense will be better than advertised in 2010. Mister Cobble isn’t Corey Peters, but he has the potential to be. He is still young and learning, but will turn a lot of heads in 2010. While the Cats are young at linebacker, they are extremely fast. It will be hard to keep Qua Huzzie and Ridge Wilson off the field because of their athleticism. Teams will have to run the ball against UK because the secondary will be the strongest part of the defense in 2010.
