Jarmon’s Career at Kentucky is Over

When news broke of the 10 a.m. press conference yesterday, it was well understood that the news from the presser was probably not going to be good. There was speculation of roster moves on the basketball team at first but then all signs pointed to a non-basketball related presser.
Well, this morning we found out that Jeremy Jarmon’s career as a Wildcat is over because he failed a drug test. He did not release the name of the drug but did state that he took the drug for a short period of time, as he was trying to lose weight.
When the training staff caught wind of his usage they immediately told him to stop but it was too late as his name was selected for a random drug test. Which he failed.
The failed drug test led to a year-long ban and because of his previous red-shirt year, his career is over. He attempted an appeal but that was rejected.
Sad news as Jarmon was a key aspect of an ever-improving defense. I also thoroughly enjoyed his Shakespeare readings during games on CBS. I think Verne Lundquist enjoyed his readings as well.
Here is the press conference.
