Today at his press conference luncheon, Rich Brooks announced that Mike Hartline sustained a torn MCL, a partially torn PCL, and cartilage damage. He avoided injury to his ACL, which means that he will not need reconstructive surgery.
Hartline will miss at least a month, but could return before season’s end. How quickly the cartilage heals will determine when he can return.
Morgan Newton and Will Fidler are the candidates for the starting job, while Randall Cobb will remain at wide receiver but see more touches in the Wildcat formation.
In other injury news, star cornerback Trevard Lindley is still likely to miss another 3-4 weeks.
