Football in the Bluegrass State!

My name is Aaron and I have my own blog dedicated to the University of Kentucky Football Program (Aaron’s UK Football Blog). Just to give you a little background on myself, I was born in Lexington and played a little college football and just like most UK fans, I BLEED BLUE!
During the season I link articles on my site and try to give some football perspective to UK fans. Also, I cover UK football recruiting closely. In the past couple of months I have intereviewed many recruits in the 2010 and 2011 classes. I know there are a ton of Louisville fans who visit this site which I think is great. In covering football recruiting, I run into a ton of crossover between UK and Louisville. Feel free to add my site to your favorites, but I’m going to contribute to “The Pinkie” a couple of times per week. Now let’s talk some football!
Football in the Bluegrass State is buidling momentum and recruits are learning they can come to the state and play at a football school. I think Charlie Strong and Joker Phillips are great for the entire state of Kentucky and college football in general. Both are excellent recruiters and it’s going to be fun watching them slug it out over recruits and on the field.
Currently, I have a recruiting “big board” which I track daily for UK and it consists of over 150 names. Of the 150+ names at least 30 of them are receiving interest from Louisville, too. Just yesterday, Jalen Harrington (Fern Creek HS) received an offer from Louisville. His two high school teammates, Jamon Brown (DT) and Jerrell Moore (RB) have already given their verbals to Louisville, however Brown told me he was still going to look around and make sure he is making the best decision. This past weekend, Jamon Brown and Jerrell Moore both visited UK for Junior Day.
While Brown and Moore visited UK, Zach West (OL) from Lexington visited Louisville this weekend. West holds offers from several schools, but neither UK or UL have offered yet, I expect both to extend an offer at some point. Also, Lamar Dawson (LB) who many consider a lock for UK was scheduled to make the trip to Louisville this past weekend, but was unable to make it for family reasons. He will likely reschedule that trip and he is not a lock for UK either. There are a ton of other recruits we could talk about and hopefully we cover them all at some point.
Below are some links back my site which cover many topics. I hope you guys enjoy the site and I look forward to helping out here as well. You can also follow me on Twitter (AaronsUKFBBlog).
