Corey Peters named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week

There were bright spots in UK’s loss to South Carolina, but none were brighter than the performance of senior defensive tackle Corey Peters.
Peters has dealt with double teams all season playing alongside a inexperienced defensive line that has struggled to get prussure. Peters broke out in a big way against South Carolina, registering 7 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
In other football news this morning, Morgan Newton and Will Fidler were both listed atop the quarterback depth chart entering the week. This suggests to me that we’re going to have an open competition on our hands. We should also find out about the results of Mike Hartline’s MRI in about 20 minutes at the weekly press conference.
