Bluegrass Ballers In The NBA (thru 11/21)

Terrence Williams (Louisville/NEW JERSEY) – Williams has dazzled at times for the Nets, posting four double-doubles thus far — including a 20 point, 10 rebound effort on the 18th in Milwaukee. Though Brandon Jennings and Tyreke Evans will battle it out for rookie of the year, TWill should get some votes. He is putting up 11.0ppg, 6.1rpg and 2.2apg.
Earl Clark (Louisville/PHOENIX) – Earl is averaging 3.0ppg, 2.6rpg, 0.4apg in spotty action. He had his best game on November 12th in LA against the Lakers, scoring 10 points while pulling down eight boards in nearly 22 minutes.
Francisco Garcia (Louisville/SACRAMENTO) -Recovering from wrist surgery, out until March.
Rajon Rondo (Kentucky/BOSTON) – Rondo is averaging 10.5ppg, 4.0rpg, 8.8apg and 2.5spg for the recently struggling Celtics. Boston has won just once in their past four games, and in that game (not coincidentally) Rajon had 18 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds.
Tayshaun Prince (Kentucky/DETROIT) – After having his consecutive-games streak at 496 (second longest active) and his consecutive-start streak at 439 (longest active) snapped, Tayshaun has not played since. He is suffering from a small ruptured disk in his back and is rehabbing with Piston strength and conditioning coach Arnie Kander. He is out indefinitely and there is still no timetable for his return.
Kelenna Azubuike (Kentucky/GOLDEN STATE) – The Buike Monster was starting and averaging 13.9 points, 4.6 boards and 1.1 assists a game before tearing a tendon in his left patella on 11/14 in Milwaukee. He underwent successful surgery on the 18th but will still be out for the rest of the season.
Chuck Hayes (Kentucky/HOUSTON) – Chuck has started all 14 games for the Rockets and just does what is asked of him. Hayes is averaging 6.4pts, 6.8rpg, 1.6spg and 1.3apg.
Keith Bogans (Kentucky/SAN ANTONIO) – Bogans has started six of the last seven games at shooting guard for the Spurs, but is averaging just 17mpg. He has reached double digits in scoring just once (11/11 — 13 points) and is giving San Antonio 4.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game.
Nazr Mohammed (Kentucky/CHARLOTTE) – Got the start on 11/20 for the injured Tyson Chandler. Nazr’s playing just over 15 minutes a game for the Bobcats, averaging 5.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per contest.
Jodie Meeks (Kentucky/MILWAUKEE) – Since scoring 19 points on 7-of-11 from the field (5-of-7 from deep) in Milwaukee’s 11/7 win over the Knicks, Meeks has been struggling from the field. Connecting on just nine of his last 39 shots from the field — an anemic 23 percent — Jodie is seeing 15 minutes of action a game, contributing 5.7ppg and 2.8rpg.
Jamaal Magloire (Kentucky/MIAMI) – Passed by Joel Anthony on the Heat’s depth chart has seen just five minutes and 17 seconds of action all year (11/14 vs. New Jersey), grabbing a rebound and committing a turnover in that time.
Randolph Morris (Kentucky/ATLANTA) – Has appeared in five games for the NBA’s best Atlanta Hawks. In four minutes of Atlanta’s 121-98 win over New Orleans 11/14, Morris hit all three of his shots taken, scoring six points to go with his two boards. In his five games he’s averaging 1.4pts and 0.8rbs.
Courtney Lee (Western Kentucky/NEW JERSEY) – Lee strained his groin in Philly on November 6th and hasn’t played since, missing seven strait contests. He is putting up 11.8ppg, 2.2rpg and 2.0apg for the 0-13 Nets.
James Singleton (Murray State/DALLAS) – James is averaging 2.2 points and 1.9 rebounds on the year. He saw the most action and had his best game of the year November 7th against Toronto. Singleton played 18 minutes and scored 10 points, grabbed two boards, had two steals and a block.
