ANDY KATZ BLOG – A John Wall decision could come as early as this weekend with Miami and Kentucky being the two likeliest destinations for the top point guard in the Class of 2009 to land. The Word of God Christian Academy (Raleigh, N.C.) playmaker can elevate either one of these programs to the NCAA tournament. Wall does not have to sign by the end of the spring signing period next Wednesday. If Kentucky lands him, then the drama was unnecessary (based on his original destination being Memphis when John Calipari was the head coach). If Miami gets Wall, then you can chalk this down as one of the top recruiting coups of the last 10 years. Hurricanes coach Frank Haith will have pulled off quite a feat if he gets Wall to replace Jack McClinton, making the Canes an NCAA team and ensuring Miami is a must-see destination for hoops for the next 10 months.
**UPDATE: Larry Vaught on his blog is citing sources that tell him that UK remains the clear leader. That’s enough to soothe my nerves for the night.**

Honestly I would be surprised if the way we found out what college wall was goin to was that we had to wait and see what college he showed up to on the first day of classes. That’s how sad this is getting to be.
Give John Wall a little bit of a break. Do you remember when Patrick Patterson committed? It was May 16, 2007. It’s not an easy decision and he has a lot of factors to consider. Also, like Patterson, a coaching change threw a wrench into the process.
Kentucky…….Miami…….Choice is easy. KENTUCKY….the winningest team in college basketball.

John Wall can go anywhere he wants and should go to KY. Why?? Basketball is BIg time…tradition…future…..Miami come on how many NBA players??? More NFL…..join “Cal’s Cats” and be involved with one of the greatest college basketball programs. “Envy our past, Fear our future…..go CATS….
