All quiet on the Jodie Meeks front…for now

There’s still time left for word on Jodie’s decision to start leaking this evening, but so far today has been entirely silent on the part of the Jodie Meeks camp, as well on the part of any insiders claiming knowledge of the situation.

We’re under 24 hours now until tomorrow’s 5 pm deadline (22 and a half hours and counting) and not even Jodie’s coach knows what he’s going to do. This is from John Calipari’s Twitter:

No word from Jodie…Made me run faster 2day around campus…Headed 2 Markey Cancer Fundraiser @ Ashford Farms…Gonna b in NYC 2nite

The fact that John Calipari is in the dark (or at least says he is) strangely makes me feel a bit better about the uncertainty we are all feeling at this point.

While we wait, here’s Rick Bozich’s assessment of Jodie’s decision:

Meeks: I believe he’ll be back at Kentucky, but I’m surprised he has waited this long to announce it. Talked to two NBA scouts last week. One told me Meeks had played his way into the first round. Maybe that is what is creating the delay.

Most that are weighing in on this issue are saying Jodie will be back, but I don’t think anyone would venture so far as to call it 100% (or in UK insider speak, a “done deal”).
