This was posted by Jodie Meeks on his website to say goodbye to his fans from Big Blue Nation:
To the Big Blue Nation!!!
I recently announced that I would be staying in the NBA draft and forgoing my senior season at UK. It seems like only yesterday when I and my teammates arrived as freshmen. I would like to take this opportunity to convey my personal thanks to the UK fans for the wonderful support shown to me during my time at Kentucky. I had such a great time and experience at Kentucky. The UK fans are simply unbelievable and the best in college basketball. I will always cherish the time that I’ve spent at UK. I am honored to have been a part of the rich tradition of basketball at the University of Kentucky. Thanks again for all of your support.
Jodie
I have read and heard people saying that Jodie Meeks “doesn’t love UK” and that he made a “selfish” decision by staying in the Draft, which is ironic because of how selfish UK fans are being by having such an attitude.
Jodie poured everything he could into Kentucky basketball and he really helped us weather some tough times. Last season was a huge disaster, but I will always remember how Jodie played and conducted himself throughout. Jodie made a decision for his future and UK fans need to support that.
Any questions about Jodie’s “love” for UK and the fans should be answered by this thoughtful note.
