This Guy Played in the NBA…

And I didn’t.

The NBA regular season kicks off next week and with Kentucky having five rookies in the league, anticipation is at an all-time high in the Bluegrass State. This is the first of four installments of, “This Guy Played in the NBA and I didn’t”.

I lead off with a man who had a mighty successful NBA career, while I puked my lunch up, quit and became a manager after some stretching/suicides/and two laps around the quarter mile football track….

Given at the time of his college graduation he was his school’s all-time leader in points scored (2323), rebounds (1242) and blocked shots (345).  He had his jersey retired and in 2002 was named one of the fifty greatest players in Atlantic Coast Conference history. He was drafted in the first round (7th overall) by the New Jersey Nets, where he played 8 years before moving on for 3 years in Philly and 3 years in Charlotte, and then playing his final NBA season with the Milwaukee Bucks in 1994. During his NBA career he scored 10,953 points, grabbed 6,480 rebounds, and blocked 989 shots. All the while shooting 84.3% from the charity stripe.

After reviewing this man’s career numbers, it’s obvious he belonged… but still:
