This Guy Played in the NBA…

And I didn’t.

Round Three and so far Mike Gminski and Robert Swift have etched their names into Pinkie lore. Who will be next?

Well, this guy is a no brainer, simply for sporting a sweet full-flowing mulleted mane. To prove how ridiculous fellow Pinkie contributor Foxy (of Fox’s Lockses’) home state is, this guy was named Wisconsin’s All-Time Greatest High School basketball player. He played his college ball at North Carolina.

He was the 13th overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 1987 NBA draft. He played there for three years, then spent time with the Nuggets, Celtics (for a total of 2 games and 9 minutes) and Blazers before going overseas to Spain for a year, then returning to play for the Hornets, Magic, Bucks, back to the Nuggets, and finally 3 games and 12 minutes with the 1998-1999 Hornets before calling it quits.

He shot 42.3 % for his career and managed to connect on 18 out of the 110 three point shots he attempted, good for 16.4 %. PATHETIC!

In 1996 he played with Shaquille O’Neal, Penny Hardaway and the Orlando Magic and quickly became a fan favorite. He even averaged 7.7 minutes a game during the Magic’s playoff run (which ended with a 4-0 sweeping by the Chicago Jordan’s). Every time he would score a bucket in Orlando they would play an awesome wolf howl sound effect. He somehow lasted 11 seasons in the Association, averaging 4.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest, whilst being paid over $5 million in the process.

He went on to become the Denver Nuggets NBDL squad Colorado 14ers’ first ever Head Coach, before moving on to an assistant’s position with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2008.
