QB- Eli Manning NYG, Jay Cutler CHI, and Christian Ponder MIN

eli630 500x198 Week 1 Fantasy Football Start Em Sit Em

Manning has a history of shredding up the Cowboys and even with the Cowboys new addition I would have no fear putting Manning out there. You have to believe the Bears will want to unveil their new wide receiver additions in full force this week against a weak Colts defense. With AP more than likely being held out, the Vikings will rely more heavily on the pass game this week. An added bonus is its week one so Harvin is for sure a go.

RB- Arian Foster/Ben Tate HOU, Marshawn Lynch SEA, and Kevin Smith DET

The Dolphins won’t have any answer for the Houston attack so expect both running backs to produce for you. Lynch will cement his status a top 10 fantasy pick with a solid week one performance. Kevin Smith faces last season’s worst rushing defense. He’s a solid play for 80 yards and a TD.

WR- Marques Colston NO, Justin Blackmon JAC, and Nate Washington TEN

With the Saints tumultuous offseason and the loss of a couple receiving options, we should see Colston shine even more this season. The Vikings have no cornerback that can match up physically with Blackmon. With Kenny Britt suspended this week, Washington should fill in nicely as Tennessee’s number one wide receiver.

TE- Kyle Rudolph MIN and Dustin Keller NYJ

Rudolph cements his status as a solid tight end receiving option with a strong week one. At this point I think Dustin Keller is the only receiving option Mark Sanchez really trusts which should translate to success this season.

DEF-Chicago and Houston

Solid defenses playing rookie quarterbacks in their very first game. Both should go 1 or 2 in points from a defense this week.

Sit EM’

QB- Peyton Manning DEN, Ryan Fitzpatrick BUF, and Alex Smith SF

Manning makes his first start against a tough Pittsburgh defense. I don’t know if I would be to thrilled about throwing him out there in his return. I expect the Buffalo/Jets game to be a 10-7 affair which is not a strong game to throw a quarterback into. Smith faces a Packers defense that is really good at applying pressure, I wouldn’t put my money on him turning the corner.

RB-Donald Brown IND, Any Redskins RB, and Maurice Jones-Drew JAC

Brown faces one of the best rush defense in Chicago so it’s better to hold off on playing him until next week. The Redskins running back situation is still yet to be figured out so you have just as good a chance to get 0 points as 10 points this week. MJD looks set to be a 3rd down running back this week and it’s hard to be a effective when you’re that limited.

WR- Vincent Jackson TB, Stevie Johsnon BUF, and Darrius Heyward-Bey OAK

I just don’t see Jackson producing like he did last season minus his stellar QB in Philip Rivers. And I just don’t see him having the same motivation after getting his big contract this offseason. Stevie Johnson will have a tough time finding space to operate against a tough Jets defense. Carson Palmer has looked out of sync this preseason, I wouldn’t bet on him turning it around in week 1.

TE- Tony Gonzalez ATL and Jermaine Gresham CIN

Gonzalez should see his production drop with Julio Jones and Roddy White getting most of the attention in Atlanta’s pass attack. Jermaine Gresham faces a tough opposition in Baltimore. Their linebackers and secondary will make life hard for him in week 1.

DEF- Tennessee and Washington

They face two of the most potent passing attacks in football. They both lack the defensive depth to stop them. I expect them to give up 35 plus points.

Top 3 Undrafted Free Agents

1). Danny Amendola STL WR

Amendola is the number one wide receiver in St. Louis and should be a solid flex or 3rd wide receiver option in all leagues.

2). Kyle Rudolph MIN TE

Looking for a backup Tight end or one to fill in for Witten. Look No Further than Rudolph, he has top 10 potential as a tight end this season.

3). Bilal Powell NYJ RB

Shonn Green’s lack of production and fact that the he is a free agent could see the Jets give Powell a shot this season. He is a bruiser that also has big play potential.
