The Pinkie Interviews the Chicago Bliss’ Danielle Moinet
First off, for those who haven’t seen the LFL, this league isn’t just hot chicks prancing around, pretending like they are playing football. This is real, deal football action. The QB’s can throw it, the running backs can run it and the wideouts can catch it on the run. On the other side of the field, big hits and big plays are made over and over, again.
Danielle Moinet is a cornerback for the Chicago Bliss, who enter the Western Conference Championship with a 3-1 record. We featured her a couple of weeks ago on our site, to check it out, click here. Well, somehow we pulled it off and found a way to interview her prior to the Bliss’ Western Conference Championship battle with the Los Angeles Temptation. It airs live on MTV2 on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Quickly, to our sub-par interviewing skills.
First off, for those who aren’t familiar with the LFL, how would you best describe it?
Who are these people who aren’t familiar? Haha…just kidding! It’s 7-on-7 full contact smash mouth football!
Can you talk about the physicallity of the league? Also, what is the biggest hit you have ever made?
When I say it’s full contact I mean just that…it’s full contact! A lot of people don’t believe me when I tell them how extremely physical we are until they look it up on youtube! In our last game alone we had a torn ACL and a broken hand, so injury is definitely a factor in this league and speaks to our level of playing. My teammate who broke her hand on the second play actually continued to play the rest of the game! We go very hard in practice and that’s where my biggest hit happened. Unfortunately she tore her ACL upon my contact. It’s the all in the name of the game though. Like my coach says, you cant go out there playing scared because thats when you’ll get hurt.
The field is smaller in the LFL. It is only 50 yards long and is 30 yards narrower than an NFL field. This smaller field really tightens up the action and creates a lot of the contact, doesn’t it?
Exactly! That’s what makes it so entertaining to watch. You come to an LFL game and your gonna get a hard hitting, action packed game!
You play cornerback for the Chicago Bliss. Do you have any advice for the cornerbacks at the University of Kentucky or University of Louisville?
Oh, I’m sure they could show me a thing or two! Maybe I’ll have to make it out to a game in the fall!
The Chicago Bliss were one of the four original teams in the LFL. This year the league had ten teams and it is looking to expand again in 2011. How does it feel to not only be on one of the original squads but to be a team captain, as well?
Being captain of the Chicago Bliss makes it that much easier. This is the most intelligent, driven, beautiful, and kind hearted group of women that I’ve ever know! It’s such an honor to be a part of them, let alone represent them! I do love the leadership role that I’ve been in for three years. I also handle all of the press and media in Chicago and nationally for the Bliss. Thats what I really enjoy!
At StraitPinkie.com, we hold absolutely zero weight, but what do you think we need to do to urge league officials to bring a team to Louisville?
Send emails to the league on lflus.com and go to their facebook page facebook.com/mylfl and demand a team be brought to Kentucky! I think it would be a great fit!
Alright, you enter Saturday’s Western Conference Championship with a 3-1 record and your lone loss came to the team you face, the Los Angeles Temptation. What does your team have to do different to down the Temptation and advance to Lingerie Bowl?
All we have to do is play our brand of football. The Chicago Bliss couldn’t have played any worse then we did against LA on January 7th. We need to bring our A game and leave it all out on the field. It’s the playoffs, that means no regrets!
Do you want to make any bold predictions about the game?
You’ll just have to watch for yourself this saturday on MTV2!
Let’s talk about the Bears’ performance in the NFC Championship. Much was said about Jay Cutler not playing the majority of the second half in Sunday’s game with a knee injury. On your twitter page (follow Danielle at @DanielleMoinet) you were openly critical of Cutler, referring to him as a “baby” and saying, “it’s the playoffs, it’s now or never”.
Now now, that was taken out of context. I was asked if he was benched or just being a baby. It’s the playoffs and at the quarterback position your gonna take a lot of the heat if you don’t produce. It’s now or never and you can’t have any regrets when you leave that game. I’m clearly no doctor though so I can’t tell you if he was injured and if it was enough to pull him from the game. It’s hard to see such a great Bears season come to an end like that. Football is truly a team sport so you cant blame just one player. I’m still a Bears fan though and looking forward to next year!
When you aren’t playing football, I imagine you stay plenty busy. What are some of the things that you do during the offseason?
After going hard for eight months, it’s nice to finally relax. I always go home to North Carolina for a bit to get away and be with my family. I love it back there and I really do miss the south so much! I also get to give more attention to booking jobs through my modeling agency and concentrate on personal training.
Before I get into some goofier, non-football related questions, I have to ask what is it with girls and eye black that is so damn hot?
Haha, I don’t know what it is, but so many guys ask me that!
What’s the best/worst pick-up lines you’ve ever heard?
Did you just fart? Because you blew me away!
Would you rather date an ugly, funny guy, or a gorgeous guy who is an a-hole?
Ugly, funny guy for sure. First of all, looks fade and a great sense of humor is very important to me!
Favorite cartoon growing up?
Rugrats.
How many pushups can you do?
Push ups aren’t my forte but if you wanna talk squats then I’m your girl!
Which super power would you want to have and why?
Without a doubt, the ability to see into the future!
If we looked inside your fridge, what would we find?
Sprite, Cranberry juice, cheese, ketchup, and eggs! It can get pretty bare since I’m not home a lot but you can always find those things in there! Oh and Lean Cuisine peperoni pizza’s, I’m so obsessed with those things!
Unicorns – beautiful mythological creatures or terrifying mutant horses?
I seriously just laughed so hard when I read that!! Beautiful mythological creatures of course!
In a battle between a lion and a bear, who would reign victorious?
Da Bears!
Have you ever been to the Kentucky Derby? If you haven’t, I strongly urge you to do so and believe me, the entire Pinkie crew would be more than glad to show you around. The Kentucky Derby is a one-of-kind experience that everyone should partake in at least once. Horses, big hats and mint juleps…you can’t do much better than that.
Funny you say that because I was actually gonna mention it to you! going to the Kentucky Derby has always been something that Ive wanted to do! I was actually looking up the dates a couple weeks ago. I would just love it, I know! I may actually take you up on that offer.
Alright, time for one more plug. Why should everyone tune into MTV2 on Saturday night to check out yourself and the Chicago Bliss take on the Los Angeles Temptation for the Western Conference Championship at 6 p.m.?
Because who wouldn’t want to see beautiful, athletic women playing America’s greatest sport!
Thank you so much for you time and good luck on Saturday. The Pinkie Nation, all three of us, will definitely be pulling for you.

Wow, that’s a great interview & she is HOT!
I’m impressed, I must say. Really rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is outstanding; the issue is something that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.
